Connor on the Mend & Spring Poem
Thank you to so many of you for praying for Connor. He is on the mend and has not experienced any major pain since we took him to the doctor last week. We had no idea what the tests would uncover but we are told it is not serious and we give thanks to God for that. He was well enough to come with me to a couple of speaking engagements over the weekend. Speaking of which, I was a guest speaker at a women’s gathering this past weekend and one of the women in attendance wrote a beautiful poem I would like to share with you. It’s very timely as we await spring weather to get here on a full-time basis…looks like more snow might be in the forecast, Yikes!
God is in my garden, He’s planting flowers there
Daisies, phlox and lilies, all grow without a care
Some are pink and some are gold, some bloom for just a day
Some are scattered here and there, I think that is God’s way!
He sends the gentle raindrops, warm sun and dark of night
The seeds no longer dormant, burst forth into the light
Flowers bring us beauty, their fragrance very sweet
Bringing joy and happiness, to everyone they meet
God is in my garden, He’s planting faith seeds there
Kindness, love, a trusting heart, all grow because He cares
He’ll nourish and protect me, like a vine I’ll always cling
Until my bloom is done here, and in Heaven it is Spring!
Blessings~
Betsy

A Very well written poem and a very good message.
God is always there for us in our garden of faith and we thank him everyday for all the blessings he has given us.
Glad to hear that Connor is better and we thank God it was not serious.
Richard
Could we give credit to the author for this wonderful poem, if it’s OK w/her? Assuming this could be passed along on the Internet, it would be appropriate.
Our best to you and your family!
The poem was in a church program. I will try to find the name and get her permission to give her credit. Thanks for reading my blog!
The poem is from Renee Thoreson. She goes to Our Savior’s Lutheran in Rochester, MN.
I meant to check out faith stories a long time ago, and I don’t know where the time went. Last night in an interview, part of my poem was quoted back to me and I was pleased to find out it had been posted here. Betsy was a wonderful speaker at our Alleluia Celebration and Conner was as cute as a bug. Many thanks go to our God for healing Conner. Thank you Betsy for posting my poem and I hope it brings joy to whoever reads it.
