Through the Peaks and Valleys
There is a lot to be said about the blessings in our lives. Friends, family and most importantly, faith. I write a lot on this blog about giving thanks for the blessings God gives us but I don’t necessarily share with you the difficulties that we face on a daily basis. From health issues, parenting struggles, insecurities and the loss of loved ones (just to name a few), we are all going through something. Let me ask you this, as I ask Ken and myself the same question; where are you going to put your faith? Is it in the security (or insecurity) of this world? Is it in the security of someone other than God? Is it in a paycheck? Is it in a doctor? It has to be in God, no matter what.
Where is your faith? Where is mine? In all honesty, I ask that question when I pray. Sometimes when I pray I tell the Lord, ‘I don’t know what to say today. I don’t know where to begin. I don’t know what it is You want for my life, my marriage, my family, this ministry. What do You want Lord? What do you want?!’”
Am I wrong? It feels like it many times. I am comforted by faith-filled friends who remind me that I am not wrong or alone when I question what God wants. It is okay to ask God questions. It is also okay to cry out and plead for His intercession in our lives. I look at how Abraham lead his people through the desert, wanting to follow God only to be left asking, ‘What do you want from me? Where are we going?’ God answered Abraham and made a promise to him and His people.
God has a very specific plan for you and your life. He knows EVERYTHING there is to know about you; your heart, your past and your future. When you let Him lead you never know what is in store and no matter where you are in life, whether it be on top of a mountain or in the valley of darkness, He is there. He will lead you, He will hold your hand and some days, He will carry you through whatever it is that life throws at you.
“Oh, ye of little faith.” So true. I am guilty too at times wondering where all this in our lifetime fits in and where He will lead us.
Until next time, may you be blessed and please, pray for us and this ministry.
Simply~
