Planting Seeds for the Lord

The more I have been working at KFSI and walking in my faith journey, I have really come to understand the importance of planting seeds for His kingdom.  Whether it’s through Faith-Stories.Com, KFSI, this blog or our appearances (to see Betsy’s appearances page click here).  As of late, I have done a few speaking engagements about my testimony of coming to the Lord since last November.  One lately was at Freedom Fest with Betsy and the other was by myself Tuesday night at church night at the Fillmore County Fair in Preston, MN.

It was Hot and Humid; the folks started coming into the fairgrounds for the event slowly, all seemed to be armed with water and sweat.  We were unsure how many would actually show up, because the attendence has been slacking over the years, but the crowd kept gathering in size.  The event organizers soon ran out programs.  After some great music by the VCC “band”, we had some great words from a featured pastor and off I went.  I went right into my part to plant seeds by talking about many topics in front of about 200 people.

Here’s a Cliff’s Notes on them. 1) Betsy leaving KTTC-TV for KFSI radio and Faith Christian School 2) Me not willing to let her do so 3) The starting of Faith-Stories.Com and how my changes began into investigating this Jesus “thing” 4) My salvation and eventually coming to work for the Lord 5) and in closing, no matter how old you are, keep that fire burning in your heart for Him.

In about 15-20 minutes and about two gallons of sweat later, it was over.  I wish I had time to tell more because of all the blessings being given to us, KFSI, Faith-Stories and my friends.  Now to my point.  After setting the “stage”…I got many encouraging e-mails within the next few days reminding me how the Lord is using us as tools for His kingdom, such as this life-changing testimony.  I also got a card in the mail from a lady in Spring Valley, MN writing how my testimony may have changed her husband’s heart.  This is where the seed planting comes full circle from my post a few months ago.  “Truck driver Dave” I will call him has been walking for about 18 years in church with his wife, but his walk may be slowed some I will say.  After the Lord used me, he may now have his pilot light for his love for Christ re-lit.  Her letter to me got my eyes a little damp.  I hear some of these same stories after I tell my testimony.  He uses me as His seed planter or fetilizer to believers who may have lost a step in serving him.  I pray Dave, you will expand on your journey closer to Him, as well as others learning about You, or those of you sitting on a fence.  For those of you serving and loving him, keep planting and fertilizing.  The rewards will be quite Heavenly.

Peace…

Ken
