Just a quick note tonight as we gear up for the Olmsted County Fair. So this will be a post of multiple things to cover for most of the week. First off, be sure to stop and visit us at the fair. KFSI will have a booth and we will be there 11-5 Tuesday through Thursday. Friday into Sunday we will be there pretty much all day. We will have some give-aways from Doctor Dobson, we will have drawings for free passes to the Higher Ground Music Festival, and by Thursday into the weekend we will be giving away free water from Artesian in LeRoy, MN.

Secondly, we have just posted our latest story on Faith-Stories.com. It is part two on cutting. The topic for me was very eye opening. What an amazing story, both parts. Taralee was very honest and courageous in telling her story, as well as her father. I hope this story opens your eyes to see what is going on with kids, teens and adults in this world; male or female.

Third, thanks so much for all the feedback on our development for the new Faith-Stories home page. Great stuff! All the ideas are being looked into by myself and our web developer. Love the logo!

Finally, last Friday, I got a chance to bring someone to the Lord. I won’t get into full details because it is a long story, but helping someone get saved is quite the rush. I met this guy “Joe” early in the day last Thursday and got a chance to know him as he really opened up with all his issues. I had a feeling he wasn’t saved. We had lunch on Friday and I knew what I had to do. We went through ”Romans Road” and he is now going to go into His Kingdom after life has come and gone. Here’s the Godly goose-bump moment. That same night (Friday), a lady stood up in a Bible study class to share her prayer request. She said that a friend of hers has a husband who is a well known businessman in Rochester, has a drug addiction, is in his middle 30s and he needs some kind of intervention to come to the Lord. A friend of mine, Farmer Gary, knew about Joe’s issues because I talked to him Thursday, and what I was prepared to do with him, but he didn’t know that he just got saved. He said to her, “I know who you are praying for, his name is Joe, he owns a specific business etc,”. The lady was amazed that Gary knew who she was praying for. Gary said, “The Lord is using Ken to get him there”. You can’t write a better script. Well He can. What a huge rush. If you have no belief at all in God, this story has got to wake you up! He answered her prayer, before it was even asked for. For more on this story, just call KFSI and I will fill you in. Blessings to you all!

Peace…

Ken

I got a package in the mail today. It turned out to be a CD. With it was a letter enclosed that said this CD has a new logo for our Faith-Stories.com website. This anonymous person wrote that he/she didn’t want to push this on us, but he/she wanted to be a part of our ministry by donating this logo. He/she gave some nice encouraging words and I loaded it into the CD player to take a look.

The more I have been working at KFSI and walking in my faith journey, I have really come to understand the importance of planting seeds for His kingdom. Whether it’s through Faith-Stories.Com, KFSI, this blog or our appearances (to see Betsy’s appearances page click here). As of late, I have done a few speaking engagements about my testimony of coming to the Lord since last November. One lately was at Freedom Fest with Betsy and the other was by myself Tuesday night at church night at the Fillmore County Fair in Preston, MN.

It was Hot and Humid; the folks started coming into the fairgrounds for the event slowly, all seemed to be armed with water and sweat. We were unsure how many would actually show up, because the attendence has been slacking over the years, but the crowd kept gathering in size. The event organizers soon ran out programs. After some great music by the VCC “band”, we had some great words from a featured pastor and off I went. I went right into my part to plant seeds by talking about many topics in front of about 200 people.

Here’s a Cliff’s Notes on them. 1) Betsy leaving KTTC-TV for KFSI radio and Faith Christian School 2) Me not willing to let her do so 3) The starting of Faith-Stories.Com and how my changes began into investigating this Jesus “thing” 4) My salvation and eventually coming to work for the Lord 5) and in closing, no matter how old you are, keep that fire burning in your heart for Him.

In about 15-20 minutes and about two gallons of sweat later, it was over. I wish I had time to tell more because of all the blessings being given to us, KFSI, Faith-Stories and my friends. Now to my point. After setting the “stage”…I got many encouraging e-mails within the next few days reminding me how the Lord is using us as tools for His kingdom, such as this life-changing testimony. I also got a card in the mail from a lady in Spring Valley, MN writing how my testimony may have changed her husband’s heart. This is where the seed planting comes full circle from my post a few months ago. “Truck driver Dave” I will call him has been walking for about 18 years in church with his wife, but his walk may be slowed some I will say. After the Lord used me, he may now have his pilot light for his love for Christ re-lit. Her letter to me got my eyes a little damp. I hear some of these same stories after I tell my testimony. He uses me as His seed planter or fetilizer to believers who may have lost a step in serving him. I pray Dave, you will expand on your journey closer to Him, as well as others learning about You, or those of you sitting on a fence. For those of you serving and loving him, keep planting and fertilizing. The rewards will be quite Heavenly.

Peace…

Ken

It has been a monumental day! Huge, if you will!

It all started with a simple word (I hope this doesn’t bother you), poopy. Caden is 26 months and while he has quite frequently been saying that word since learning what it means, he said it this morning with great enthusiasm. I didn’t waste a moment and quickly put him on the potty. A couple of grunts and pushes later he had accomplished a big boy feat that was cause for celebration. Stickers for everyone!!! And a song and dance by Mommy that needn’t ever been seen (or done) again.

Tonight, Connor and I were outside with some neighbor kids. As dusk approached, out came the flying stars better known as fireflies or lightning bugs. I showed Connor how to gently cup his hands around them and peak through his fingers to see the light that eluminates, as he puts it, ‘from their bottoms’.

It may not sound like a monumental day to most but for me, it’s one I won’t forget. These simple moments and simple feats will not be taken for granted. The memories that God is creating for me through these times with my husband and children are worth more than I can possibly explain.

May you know what it’s like to live and love in the moment and be loved more than you’ve ever felt.

Blessings, Betsy

Sorry for not posting as of late, but the both of us have been very busy like all of you and this has slipped by a little. This last week we were tag teaming support calls in Spring Valley, Zumbrota, Winona and other local areas. At $3.95 per gallon it adds up fast! Plus, we had a very tight shooting schedule for Faith-Stories. Here’s what is going on in the background that we haven’t had time to talk about on the radio.

We are looking into many new options, but still keeping it clean, fast, competitive and not “busy”. THIS is your chance to give us some more feedback…the more the better. Feel free to drop us a line at kquattrin@kfsi.org.

Peace…

I think the title says it all. Betsy and I were looking forward to this event for months, then suddenly it arrived. Freedom Fest was put on by Valley Christian Center (VCC) in Spring Valley, MN. For the third year the growth in the festival continues. The local vendors, the fun activities for kids and adults were a lot of fun. The dog show competition was cute from what I saw and the Brown Family sounded awesome. The free watermelon hit the spot and Farmer Gary’s son Simon was handing out free water as if we were all planning a trip across the desert :-). I was so proud of him and his enthusiasm. Betsy and I had our own booth to promote Faith-Stories.com as well as KFSI. We were in a whirlwind of people coming around talking and picture taking. We were planting seeds and fertilizing seeds already planted. I wanted to shoot some video of the festival with the sun out, but we were swamped, so all I got was the bombastic firework display that night. We both got on stage to share our testimony, and that went well. I reminded everyone at the end of our talk that this event is to remember our troops, current and past. I told the crowd to say ‘thank you for serving’ to every soldier they run into. It only takes a quick moment, and I am a firm believer that every American should do so, regardless of you view on wars past or current. Take a listen to this song written by three current soliders who have been in Iraq. Wipe off your tears and come back if you leave. Off my soapbox…As far as the fireworks, they lasted 25 minutes. The sky was lit up with all the colors of the rainbow. The concussion bombs were so loud, it was so cool to hear the sounds echo through the town.

In closing this was the best night Betsy and I have had in years…Years. We thank all of you in Spring Valley for making us feel so welcome to your event (2,500 to almost 3,000 people in attendance). Thank you to VCC for the new friendships and how you and the Lord brought your community and other surrounding communities together for this event. Thanks to the Spring Valley Tribune for the story in the newspaper. Again a HUGE thank you!

Peace…

My Bible study partner sent this to me the other day and it made me laugh so loud. People who know me, know my laugh is not very silent…it can shake a window. This kind of humor is old school (Abbott and Costello), and I miss seeing it. I’m glad some folks have saved it over time. It reminds me of the times I reflect on how much I love the Andy Griffith Show and other simple things in life. Our world is so full of garbage on TV, that it is still nice to see some of this clean, slip stick comedy still around. I know this post strays from our purpose, but I think laughing is very important in life! Laughing to me reminds me at times to not take things so serious and just relax in this stress filled world. As you tackle another day, go with a smile after viewing this. Enjoy! P.S…Remember Who’s on First?
